Wow, my dashboard is informing me it's been 4 weeks since my last post.
4 weeks!?!? Have I even been in Hawaii that long?? That new, I-can't-believe-I-live-in-Hawaii feeling has barely lost it's edge, but it comes back full strength when I see something particularly beautiful or amazing (like tonight's sunset over the Pacific).
I love it here.
Here are some highlights from the past few weeks that are missing from my blog...
-Tradewinds sprint tri at Kaneohe Bay. Raced with some girlfriends and had a blast!! Beautiful scenery. First in my age group. Breakfast at Cinnamon's afterwards (pumpkin pancakes = pure deliciousness)
-Acquired my chariot....a 1990 Jeep Cherokee. It might not be the prettiest thing on the road, but the a/c works (kind of), it's got a radio and a cd player (only the back speaker works), and it runs. By Hawaii standards, it's high-end. And pretty bad-ass, if I might add.
-Trip with Mike around the island and up to the north shore. Sea turtles on the beach!! A natural wading pool where you can walk amongst the reef and fishes in knee-deep water. Chillin on the beach, watching some local surfer boys. And pineapple shrimp from a shrimp shack...mmmmm.
-And of course, the highlight of the week....finally, FINALLY.....they opened an Express at the Ala Moana mall. Honolulu is catching up with the rest of the civilized world. Rumor has it that Target is coming, too....I might stay on Oahu forever. :)
