Making Progress

Well, to my surprise, things are moving along very quickly. The contractor glued all of the tile down last night and then came and grouted this morning, as well as finished all the drywall work. While he went to lunch, I then primed and painted the lower half of the back wall...just enough to where he could put the toilet, sink, and cabinet back in. I'll finish all of the painting and trim details later. It doesn't even look like the same bathroom....I'm so excited!!

Home Improvement

Let me just say, home improvement is not quite as cool as I thought it would be. I was all gung-ho about getting my teeny, tiny, outdated bathroom remodeled and I envisioned smooth, tile-free walls and pretty new tile on the floor. We are currently on day 2 (of 3, supposedly) and there is tile dust all over my house from demolition. The contractor just put up new drywall to cover the bareness of where we ripped tile down and - I'll just put this out there - I have doubts about the finished look. There are gaps where I think there shouldn't be gaps and my lack of creative vision isn't allowing me to see a finished product here. We'll see how things go tomorrow, though! The upside is that my effective imprisonment in the house (while the contractor's here working) has led to some great clean-up projects both inside and outside...the fridge is sparkling and the bushes are all neatly trimmed!

The beginning...

Well, friends, the time has finally come...I'm joining this crazy blogging community. I know that life has many changes in store for me over the next couple of years, so I might as well have a page where I can talk about all of them! Bear with me through this learning process. Here we go!!
